SMU Students Create Braveheart Videogame

One of the best universities for graduate level videogame improvement education, The Guildhall at Southern Methodist University has revealed a student project regarding the improvement of a representation of a game based on Paramount Picture Oscar-winning film, Braveheart. The film that was directed by Mel Gibson was transformed into a real-time strategy game in the past by Eidos and Red Lemon Studios back in 1999 but, Braveheart: Primae Noctis, a new game that depicts a more fantasy-based tactics and concentrates on action.

This is the first project of its kind based on a major motion picture where a university has been able to upgrade a prototype game intended for education. Braveheart: Primae Noctis is a third-person shooter improved by using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3 technology.

The six levels of the game including all the data like textures, mesh, level design, lighting, characters and animation were established in four months by the team of Guildhall students. The teams that consist of someone who is going to work on the user interface to someone custom coding some Unreal Engine 3 script are made up of 15 to 17 students.
