Singapore Polytechnic Student Inventions

Edwin Siew, a final year student of Singapore Polytechnic created a dishwashing machine that contains ultrasonic micro-bubbles that could reach the tiniest gaps in the utensils to ensure that they are perfectly clean when they come out. As long as the utensils are immersed fully in the water, the ultrasonic waves can successfully clean them. It only uses 80 percent less energy than typical dishwashers, and it finishes the job in 8 minutes rather than the usual 15 minutes. In contrast to the regular consumption of 12 kilowatts by typical dishwasher, the dishwashing machine does not need hot water, and it only consumes 2.8 kilowatts of energy.

One more invention for those who spend a lot of time on the driver’s seat is a massage chair pad that can save lives. When a driver becomes sleepy along the way or from long drives, this device can really wake them up at a push of the button that will create pressure points to shake and awake the tired motorists. It can even send an SMS alert to their love ones through the device connected to the massage chair pad if an accident occurred.
